Another series lose for England(Eng vs SA) , Comfortable win for the Kiwis (NZ vs Scotland)

Image
England vs South Africa: In the final T20I match, South Africa registered a big win of 90 runs against the hosts and clinched the series by 2-1. Both teams will now compete in 3 test matches, which are going to start from 17th of August at Lord's. England have not won a white ball series after Eoin Morgan's retirement.  South Africa posted a good total of 191 in 20 overs after losing the toss. Reeza Hendricks(70) and Aiden Markram(51 not out) hit fifties whereas Rossouw and Miller played quick knocks. David Willey was the only impressive bowler from his side, he took 3 wickets and was also economical. England was never in the game while chasing as they lost wickets consecutively. Shamsi took 5 wickets and other bowlers were also impressive, none of the South African bowlers had economy over 6 in this T20 match, which is amazing. New Zealand vs Scotland: Blackcaps won the last match of Scotland tour and remained unbeaten as they clinched the T20I series by 2-0 before

New Zealand's last match on Scotland tour

Image
After dominating Scotland in shorter format, now New Zealand will play the only ODI against the hosts, which will be their last game on this tour. Kiwis are playing without their full strength team but they have still enough strength to beat Scotland effortlessly.  This match will get played in Grange Cricket Club, Edinburgh, the same venue where they played the T20I series. Michael Bracewell was absolutely amazing in their last ODI series against Ireland however, all matches were close. Scotland would have perform better in every areas if they want to win. Their top players need to give good performances so that they can compete with Kiwis and win the game.

Who is going to win the series, England or Proteas?

Image
England vs South Africa: After beating South Africa in the series opener, England lost the second match by 58 runs so now they have to win the last match to clinch the series. Jos Buttler is still finding his first series win as a full time skipper and this his very good chance for him to do that. In last couple of matches, he played with stunning strike rate although he did not score a fifty but his aggression is really useful for England. England would probably go with Willey in place of Gleeson who was quite expensive in the last game and they will have to improve their bowling and batting, in which they were over aggressive a bit in 2nd T20I, to clinch the series. South Africa dominated with both bat and ball in the last game so they are unlikely to make any change. They would have to do the same in this match, only Rabada needs to improve a bit because he gave too many runs in last match.

Rossouw shines as South Africa level the series

Image
In the second T20I of 3-match T20I series, South Africa beat England by 58 runs. This match was dominated by the Proteas and by winning this game, they level the series and both teams will play the series decider on 31st July. 1st innings: England won the toss and opted to field first but the start was not really good for them as South Africa scored 58 in powerplay. South Africa posted huge total of 207 because of the stunning knocks of Rossouw and Hendricks. Rossouw missed his ton by just 4 runs but his knock of unbeaten 96 was absolutely brilliant which included 10 fours and 5 maximums. Moeen, Gleeson and Jordan took 1 wicket each but Gleeson and Jordan were quite expensive. 2nd innings: Buttler played another quick knock but he and other players were unable to score big and England got all out on 149. Phelukwayo and Shamsi took 3 wickets each whereas Ngidi got 2. Rossouw won man of the match award for his incredible innings of 96.

Starting of the battle in shorter format between India and West Indies, Kiwis eye on series win

Image
India vs West Indies: India will look to take the lead of 1-0 by winning the series opener against West Indies. India recently won the ODI series by 3-0 and in the last match, India dominated completely. Ashwin would have another chance after long time to prove himself in shorter format whereas Hooda will try to make his position stronger in the side by playing some quick knocks.  West Indies have enough strength to beat India as Pooran, Hetmyer and Rovman Powell are brilliant batters in shorter format and they have ability to change the game in few overs with their power hitting. . Their bowling unit is also good as it includes both pacers(Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy) and spinners (Akeal Hosein, Hayden Walsh). New Zealand vs Scotland: After winning the first T20I, New Zealand would look to seal the series in 2nd and last game. Finn Allen and Ish Sodhi were the stars of the 1st match and Neesham was also brilliant but it was like a team effort which they would like to repeat

India won the rain affected third ODI and whitewashed West Indies in ODI series

Image
In the third ODI match, India beat West Indies by 119 runs and clinched the series by 3-0. The overs were reduced to 35 in this match due to rain.  1st innings: India batted first after winning the toss and openers gave brilliant start to India as both, Shikhar and Shubhman hit fifties. Shikhar departed on 58 in 23rd over before another brilliant partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Gill. Shubhman missed his ton by just two runs because of the rain. Iyer played impressive knock of 44 in 34 deliveries before getting out by Hayden Walsh Jr. India scored 226 before the rain interruption and after the break, West Indies got target of 257 in 35 overs. Keemo Paul and Akeal Hosein were the only economical bowlers from the Caribbean side.  2nd innings: West Indies needed good start to chase the big total which they did not. Siraj took two wickets in second over and sent Mayers and Brooks on duck. Pooran and King played impressive knocks of 42 runs but that was not enoug

England and New Zealand won in two high scoring encounters

Image
England vs South Africa: England took the 1-0 lead in T20 series by winning the first game against the Proteas. It was a high scoring game where England posted 234 on the board in first innings after losing the toss. Buttler gave quick start before the stunning knocks of Malan, Bairstow and Moeen Ali. Bairstow hit 90 in only 53 balls and got support firstly from Malan(43) and then from Moeen(52 in only 18). Lungi Ngidi took his carrer best 5 wickets although he and other bowlers were too expensive.  While chasing the huge target of 235, Rossouw and Tristan Stubbs(outstanding 72 in 28 deliveries) hit fifties but other players did not support them and South Africa lost the match by 41 runs. Richard Gleeson took 3 wickets, Moeen Ali took 1 and became man of the match for his brilliant performance. New Zealand vs Scotland: Scotland won the toss and opted to field first but the Scottish bowlers were unable to take its advantage as Finn Allen and Martin Guptill gave brilliant sta

Which team will start the series with a win, South Africa or England?

After sharing the ODI series, England and South Africa will now compete in shorter format. The first match will take place in Bristol, England.  South Africa will play without their regular skipper Temba Bavuma, who is not available because of the injury and Miller will lead the team in this series. England will miss Ben Stokes, who is rested in this series. After becoming captain, Jos Buttler has not done well and he also lost the series so in this series, he will look to regain his form and clinch his first series as a full time skipper.

Opportunity of whitewash for the visitors, New Zealand to begin series against Scotland

Image
India vs West Indies: Shikhar Dhawan has great opportunity to whitewash West Indies in the ODI series by winning the third match. India won the last two matches in the close encounters and they are likely to win this one. India can make some changes as they already have won the series but at the same time, they would like to give more chances to Samson, Shubhman and Axar as they were quite impressive in last games.  West Indies will try to break the losing streak of 8 matches in ODIs and also to save themselves from the clean-sweep. Shai Hope was excellent in the last game and can help West Indies to register victory in this match after 8 consecutive losses. New Zealand vs Scotland: Today, New Zealand will start the 2-match T20I series against Scotland in Edinburgh. Kiwis recently defeated Ireland in T20I series by 3-0 and they are likely to win this series.  Scotland has quality players to give challenge to the Blackcaps and they can test themselves against a b

West Indies posted 311 after batting first with the help of century made by Shai Hope(115 in 135) and the brilliant knock of Nicholas Pooran(74 in 77). Shardul Thakur got three wickets but was very expensive. Chahal and the debutant , Avesh Khan were also too expensive. Whole chasing the target, India lost their captain on 48 but the impressive knocks of Shubhman(43), Shreyas(63) and the maiden fifties of Samson and Axar Patel helped India to win the game in last over. England will play the series decider with South Africa, India will look to seal the series

Image
England vs South Africa: After losing the second ODI, Proteas will try to come back in the 3rd one and clinch the series as this is going to be a series decider. South Africa showed brilliant performance with the bat in first ODI but in the second one, their batting was really poor and dissapointing. They got all out on just 83 in a rain affected match and lost the match by 118 runs. Although England won the last game but their batting still needs improvement. South Africa also needs a lot more from batsmen, if their top batters(De Cock, Van Der Dussain, Markram, Miller) perform better then it would be easy for them to win the game. The bowlers of both teams are doing very good job even though South Africans would have to control the run rate.  India vs West Indies: After beating West Indies in the first ODI, India will try to seal the series by winning the second game. Most of the people thought that India can win easily in the first match but West Indies gave tough compet

A satisfying victory for India in first ODI, brilliant start of the series

Image
In the opening ODI of West Indies tour, India won by 3 runs and took the lead of 1-0 in the 3-match ODI series. It was a brilliant start of the series because West Indies gave tough competition to India, which was not expected by anybody. 1st innings: India started brilliantly after losing the toss as both of the openers hit fifties, Shubhman Gill was outstanding before his run-out on 64. After the century-run opening stand, Dhawan made another big partnership with Shreyas Iyer, who scored 54 in 57 deliveries. Dhawan missed his ton just by 3 runs but his knock was really good.  Gudakesh Motie took 2 wickets and Alzari Joseph also grabbed 2 but he was expensive a bit. India did not reach at very big total, which was looking easy at one stage but the total of 308 was good enough to win the match. 2nd innings: West Indies lost Shai Hope in 5th over before the outstanding partnership between Kyle Mayers and Shamrah Brooks. Mayers hit 75 in only 68 balls whereas Broo

England won in bowling dominated second ODI, dissapointing batting by Proteas

Happy birthday to the greatest Kiwi pacer, Trent Boult

Image
On this day in 1989, the gun kiwi bowler, Trent Boult was born in Rotorua city in New Zealand. The kiwi bowler made his international debut in 2011 against Australia in test match and helped New Zealand to win that match. He made his debut in 50-over format in 2012 and played his first T20I in 2013. After his debut, he did a very good job for the Blackcaps not only in longer format but also in limited-over cricket. He was the joint highest wicket-taker of 2015 world cup with 22 scalps and helped New Zealand to reach in the final. He has ability to swing the ball in both sides and he also can bowl stunning yorkers, which everbody cannot.  2017 was a brilliant year for Boult as he took multiple 6-fers in ODIs. He also played an important role in 2019 world cup, where New Zealand reached in final, he also took a hat-trick in that world cup against Australia. Currently, he is the best Kiwi bowler and is the leader of the bowling-attack. Happy birthday to one of the

India will face West Indies without the big names, Dhawan got opportunity to lead the team

Image
India recently won the limited-over series against England on English soil and they now will play 3-match ODI series beginning from 22nd July in Port of Spain followed by the 5-match T20Is against West Indies. In this series, Dhawan will lead India as many of the big names are rested. India did extremely well in England and are likely to dominate West Indies because West Indies is struggling. Since the beginning of 2021, they have managed to win only 8 matches out of 24 they played. Their performance in last series against Bangladesh was really poor especially in batting, where they were unable to score even 200 in 3 matches. The last time, when West Indies India in bilateral series was in 2006 and India have won 11 series since. West Indies have mannaged to win only 2 out of 12 ODI series they played at home since March 2017. West Indies leader, Nicholas Pooran and his deputy, Shai Hope have to perform better to beat India. Ravindra Jadeja is unlikely to play the first ODI

Joe Root came back in form and made impressive 86 in 77 deliveries and was the top scorer from his side. Apart from the top three, none of the

Who going to win the series decider, India or England?

Image
After beating India in the 2nd ODI, England will compete against the visitors in 3rd ODI where both teams will look to clinch the series as it would be a series decider. This match would be crucial for Virat Kohli as fans and the whole cricket world has lot of expectations from him that he will come back in form. He did not score much in last match where his contribution was really needed. Jos Buttler would look to win his first ODI series as captain and also come back in form because after becoming captain, his performances were not impressive. England would also expect runs from Jason Roy and Joe Root, whose performances were dissapointing in last couple of games. The match will get played in Old Trafford, Manchester, which would be a lot more helpful for the batters.

Blackcaps win another thriller and whitewashed Ireland in the ODI series

Michael Bracewell played another crucial knock(21 runs in 16 deliveries), he also led New Zealand to win in previous two games. Another one sided match but this time, England dominated

In the 2nd ODI against India, England showed complete dominance and won the match by 100 runs. Now, both teams will play the series decider on 17 July, which would be the last match of England tour for India. Shreyas Iyer was not playing in this match because Kohli was making his come back.  1st innings: India won the toss again and opted to field first. England begun well before losing their first wicket in 9th over, when Roy departed on 23. Bairstow was looking good but Chahal took his wicket in 15th over. Joe Root again failed to score and got out by Chahal on 11 runs. England lost their half team within 22 overs on 102 before the crucial partnership between Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone. Would it be 2-0 for India or England will level the series, its time for the 2nd ODI

Image
India will play the 2nd ODI against  England and would look to seal the series as they are leading the 3 match series by 1-0. In the previous match, India showed complete dominance with bat and bowl whereas England's batting and bowling was really dissapointing. In the first ODI, Bumrah performed really well and took his carrer best figures(6 wickets) and made the record of best bowling figure in England by an Indian bowler. It was the first time, when India won the match by 10 wickets against England on English soil. England will definitely play better in this match than the last one but it would not be easy for them to win the game. Jasprit Bumrah is in hot form so he will be again the biggest danger for British batters. Rohit Sharma played brilliantly in the last match, which is very good news for India. Virat Kohli's availability is not sure but India is unlikely to miss him not only because Indian team have a lot of depth in batting but also because

Bumrah destroyed England by taking his carrer best figures as India dominated in first ODI

After winning the ODI series, India won the first ODI of 3-match series by 10 wickets and took the lead of 1-0 in the series. Now, England have to win the remaining two matches to win the series. India was playing without Virat Kohli and Prasidh Krishna was playing as a third pacer.  1st innings: Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to field first at the Oval. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami gave brilliant start to India as they sent Jason Roy, Joe Root and Ben Stokes on ducks. Within 8 overs, England lost their half team on only 26 runs and it was looking like England would not reach even at 50 but their captain, Jos Buttler stayed for some time and made 30 runs. In the 14th over, Moeen Ali departed on 14 and in the very next over, Shami took Buttler's wicket. Bumrah took his carrer best 6 wickets and became the first Indian bowler to take 5 or more wickets on English soil. Shami got 3 wickets whereas Prasidh Krishna took one and England got all out on only 110 runs.
