Another good day for the hosts, Chandimal showed his masterclass

On the 3rd day of 2nd test, Sri Lankan batters showed complete dominance as Australia got only 4 wickets in whole day. Kusal Mendis went early on the day before the brilliant partnerships of other batters.

After losing the wicket of Kusal Mendis in beginning of the day, Chandimal stayed on crease with Mathews and made a crucial partnership with him. Mathews scored 52 before got out by Starc whereas Chandimal hit magnificent century. Kamindu Mendis also scored 50 and made beautiful 61 on his debut. At the end of the day, Chandimal went not out on 118 with Ramesh Mendis, who is unbeaten on 7.

Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Swepson and Nathan Lyon have taken 2 wickets each but Lyon has given over 150 runs. Australian fielding was ordinary especially the wicket-keeping of Carey, who missed many chances. Also, Australia lost all reviews and it became costly for them.

On day 4, Sri Lanka would look to extend the lead whereas Australia have to take wickets quickly to stay in the game.
