India won the rain affected third ODI and whitewashed West Indies in ODI series
In the third ODI match, India beat West Indies by 119 runs and clinched the series by 3-0. The overs were reduced to 35 in this match due to rain.
1st innings:
India batted first after winning the toss and openers gave brilliant start to India as both, Shikhar and Shubhman hit fifties. Shikhar departed on 58 in 23rd over before another brilliant partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Gill. Shubhman missed his ton by just two runs because of the rain. Iyer played impressive knock of 44 in 34 deliveries before getting out by Hayden Walsh Jr. India scored 226 before the rain interruption and after the break, West Indies got target of 257 in 35 overs. Keemo Paul and Akeal Hosein were the only economical bowlers from the Caribbean side.
2nd innings:
West Indies needed good start to chase the big total which they did not. Siraj took two wickets in second over and sent Mayers and Brooks on duck. Pooran and King played impressive knocks of 42 runs but that was not enough to win the game. Chahal took 4 wickets in 4 overs and India won the 3rd ODI. With the victory in this series, India made the world record of most consecutive wins in bilateral series against one team, which is 12 series wins against West Indies.
