Bowlers led India to the series win, another poor batting performance by England
In the second T20I of 3-match T20I series, India beat England by 49 runs and clinched the series by winning first two matches. English batters misfired again and it cost them the series. Pant opened in this match and some of the main players came back to the team for India.
1st innings:
Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to field first but it did not prove to be the right decision as Indian openers started really well. India lost their first wicket in 5th over when the debutant, Richard Gleeson took the wicket of Rohit Sharma. Just after powerplay, Kohli went after making only 1 run and on the very next ball, Pant got out after scoring 26 in 15 deliveries. At one stage, India lost 5 wickets on 89 runs but then, Jadeja took the responsibility and plyed a beautiful knock of 46 because of which, India reached on good total of 170. Richard Gleeson took 3 wickets on his debut and gave only 15 runs in his four overs including a maiden. Chris Jordan was also impressive as he took 4 wickets while the other bowlers were expensive.
2nd innings:
England got bad start with the bat as Jason Roy went on golden duck. The British captain again failed to score good and departed on 4 runs in 3rd over. England lost the control and India dominated with the ball as bowlers took wickets consecutively. Only four British batters reached in double figures and England got all out on 121. Moeen Ali was the top scorer with 35 runs and Willey also scored 33 but it was not enough to win the game. Bhuvneshvar became man of the match by taking three wickets whereas Bumrah and Chahal took 2 wickets each.
