Australia in strong position in the 1st test after day 2

Image
After the end of day 2, Aussies are on driver seat as they have taken 101-run lead over Sri Lanka's 1st innings total and they have still 2 wickets in hand. Aussies are playing with their full strength team because Starc and Head got fit before the beginning of the match. Nathan Lyon took fifer in the first innings as Australia bowled out Sri Lanka for 212. Only Dicwella hit fifty and also he played with good strike rate, other batters were not too impressive. Mitchell Swepson did really well and took 3 wickets by giving 55 runs.  Australia got good and quick start before losing the wicket of Warner in 10th over on 47. Marnus did not stay for long and departed after scoring 13 runs. Smith was looking good but one mistake by Khawaja caused his run out.  The 2nd day was affected by the rain and the match continued in 2nd session and Head went quickly. Khawaja played impressive innings of 71 runs and continued his brilliant form. Cameron Green impressed everybody by scorin

Beginning of the battle for the Warne-Muralitharan trophy

Today, Australia will begin their test series against Sri Lanka in Galle. The visitors clinched the trophy of T20I series whereas the hosts won the ODI series. From the beginning of the tour, Australian players have been struggling due to the injuries.  For the first test, the availability of Travis Head is in doubt and if he is not available, Maxwell is likely to get chance. Australia would definitely prefer to play with two spinners so they would have to choose any one from Starc and Hazlewood. In spin department, Swepson is likely to be the partner of Nathan Lyon. In 2016, Sri Lanka whitewashed Australia in the test series by 3-0 because of the outstanding performance of Rangana Herath, who took 28 wickets then. This time, Sri Lanka has still brilliant spinners like Lasith Embuldeniya, Parveen Jayawickrama and Jeffrey Vandersay but the Aussies have plenty of confidence because they beat Pakistan in almost similar conditions in their last red ball series. Acco

England whitewashed New Zealand by winning the third match.

England chased down the target of 296 in fourth innings and won the third test by 7 wickets as well as the series by 3-0. In this match, English batters showed dominance as they played aggressively with brilliant strike rate especially Bairstow, who played a T20 knock in the second innings. Kiwis were unable to stop runs or take wickets, which caused their lose in the match. Jack Leach became man of the match for his fifers in both innings.  Joe Root continued his hot form in red ball cricket and became man of the series by scoring 396 runs in 3 matches on the stunning average of 99. Overall, Daryl Mitchell was the top run scorer from the series, who made 538 runs in whole series whereas Boult was on top in the list of highest wicket takers with 16 wickets.  Both teams are in bad position on the WTC table as they are on 7th and 8th position after playing 4 series. New Zealand won only 2 test matches after clinching the world test championship trophy last year and their chan

India vs Ireland, Would it be the first series win for captain Pandya?

Today, India will play the second T20I of 2-match T20I series against Ireland. India won the first match by 7 wickets, which was affected by the rain and overs were reduced to 12. In that match, only Harry Tector was impressive from Ireland, who made 64 at the strike rate of nearly 200. From India, Bhuvneshvar, Chahal and Hooda were really good as they performed well. Other bowlers were too expensive hence, they would have to do better. India is still favourite in this match and series but a team performance by Ireland can amaze everybody. Paul Stirling and Harry Tector are brilliant batters so they can produce difficulty for Indian bowlers. Ishan Kishan and Hooda were outstanding and too aggressive, which could benefit India again. India would expect runs from Suryakumar Yadav, who went on golden duck in the last match.

Happy birthday to South African legend, Dale Steyn

Image
On this day, Dale Steyn was born in 1983 in Phalaborwa. He made his test debut for South Africa in 2004 against England but his peak started from the away tour of Pakistan. In case of ODIs, he made his debut in 2005 against the Asia 11 whereas he played his first T20I in 2007 against the Kiwis. He was one of the best bowler in test cricket in world as he remained on top of the ICC test rankings for 6 years and helped South Africa to win many overseas series during that time. He was also brilliant in ODIs and T20Is but not as much as the tests. Bowling Stats:                 Matches   Wickets  Average Tests=        93               439       22.95 ODIs =       125             196       25.96 T20Is=      47               64         18.36 He was the second fastest bowler to reach 250 wickets in test cricket and was the fastest South African bowler to reach at 400 wicket landmark. The injuries affected his form and in August 2019, he announced his retirement from te

India won the rain affected 1st T20 against Ireland

In the first T20I, India beat Ireland by 7 wickets and with this win, India took the lead of 1-0 in a two match-series. In this match, overs were reduced to 12 because of the rain interruption. 1st innings: Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first, which later proved to be the right decision as India took 3 wickets under 4 overs on 22 runs only. Then, Harry Tector made stunning 64 in just 33 balls and remained not out till the end and Ireland set the total of 108 in 12 overs. Bhuvneshvar Kumar and Chahal, both took 1 wicket each and were economical too. 2nd innings: India got the start which they needed, Kishan got out on team score of 30 runs out of which, he scored 26. Suryakumar Yadav went on golden duck before the incredible performance of Hooda, who scored 47 in only 29 balls. Pandya also made his contribution by scoring 24 runs in 12 deliveries and India won the match in only 9.2 overs. Chahal became  man of the match for his impressive bowling figures and

England vs New Zealand : In the 3rd test match, England is only 113 runs away from the victory. They already have won the series by winning the first two matches and they would look to whitewash New Zealand by winning this one. Kiwis made 329 in first innings because of the century made by Mitchell after winning the toss. Jack Leach took 5 wickets but also conceded 100 runs. Then, England begun badly as they lost 6 wickets on just 55 runs before the incredible partnership between the debutant, Jamie Overton and Jonny Bairstow. Overton played brilliantly but unfortunately, he missed the ton by just 3 runs. Bairstow hit 162 in only 157 deliveries and England made 360 in their first innings. New Zealand made 326 in their second innings as their captain and vice-captain came back in form. Blundell delivered again and Mitchell also scored 56 and helped New Zealand to set the competitive total of 296, Leach agains took fifer. In the 2nd innings of England, the start was good for

Australia vs Sri Lanka: 5th ODI preview

Image
Australia will play the 5th ODI today on Colombo, they already have lost the series after losing the last match by 4 runs. Sri Lanka defeated Australia in bilateral series on their home soil after three decades. After losing the first match, they did very good job and won the next three games by team effort. Australia is struggling because of the injuries, recently Travis Head got injured and ruled out from this match and unlikely to play the 1st test as well. Glenn Maxwell is added to the test squad and he is likely to make a comeback in test cricket after 5 years. In the previous matches, Sri Lanka posted 258 on the board because of brilliant knock by Asalanka. They bowled 43 overs of spin in that match and defended that total. Warner came back in form in 4th ODI and played beautifully but missed the ton by just 1 run. Australia would expect more from their batters as they found themselves unable to chase in couple of matches in this series. Sri Lanka will try

Mitchell and Blundell again rescued New Zealand, another top order failure for the Kiwis

Image
In the 3rd test match, Kiwis are on 225-5 after day 1. They chose to bat first but they lost the wicket of Latham in the very first over. Will Young only scored 20 runs before getting out by Leach before the small innings of captain Williamson and Conway. New Zealand lost 4 wickets on just 84 runs but then, Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell played beautiful knocks. They both are unbeaten and have made partnership of over 100. Mitchell is on 78 whereas Blundell is doing well on 45.  For England, Stuart Broad and Jack Leach have taken 2 wickets each. Jamie Overton made his debut in this match after a long wait, he got the test cap from his brother, Craig Overton, which was an emotional moment for him and his family. He took Conway's wicket and opened his wicket column in international cricket.  On day 2, New Zealand would look to make a massive total while the British team will try to take wickets quickly and restrict New Zealand under 300.

Roy scored century, England showed complete dominance in whole series, completed the clean sweep

England won the 3rd ODI and by winning it, they whitewashed Ireland in ODI series. Jos Buttler and Peter Salt made their highest individual scores in 1st match and England broke their own world record of making highest total in an ODI match. England won the other two by chasing the targets and completed the tour with lot of positives. Jos Buttler became player of the series for his unbelievable performances even though, Peter Salt was the top scorer in the series.  In the 3rd ODI, Jos Buttler was leading the England and he chose to bowl first after winning the toss. English team got good start as Willey took the first wicket in 5th over before the crucial partnership between Max O'Dowd and Tom Cooper. Max scored 50 whereas Cooper went on 33, the captain of Netherlands (Edwards) was the top scorer from his team with 64 runs and Bas De Leede also hit fifty. After that, they lost the control and started losing continuous wickets, they got all out on 244 in last over. Wille

Do or die for Australia, bowlers need to improve

Image
Today, Australia will play the 4th ODI of 5-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Australia got defeat in 2nd and 3rd ODI after winning the 1st one. Australian bowlers did not perform well in last match where, they were unable to defend 291. They should try to bowl yorkers and bouncers so that they can take wickets just like Richardson did in 48th over in 3rd match. Two big Aussies, David Warner and Josh Hazlewood, have to do better because in this series, their performances were not impressive at all. Warner scored only 46 runs in three matches at the average of only 15 and Hazlewood got only 2 wickets at the average of 68 after coming from hot T20 form. Sri Lankan players are playing very well but they need little bit of improvement in their bowling and fielding where in last match, they dropped some catches. Pathum Nissanka was exceptionally good in the last match and Mendis is in brilliant form. Steve Smith is unlikely to be risked because of the te

India vs South Africa: series ended in draw as rain washed the 5th T20I

Image
The rain caused no result of the series decider between South Africa and India and series ended on 2-2. South Africa won first two matches and India made a strong comeback by winning the other two by big margins. After first match, Indian bowling was really good, South African batters could have done much better in 3rd and 4th T20 but their poor batting resulted in series draw. South African bowlers were not too bad but their spinners were expensive. In 5th T20I, India lost couple of wickets in 3.3 overs before the rain interruption. Bhuvneshvar Kumar became player of the series for his outstanding bowling in all matches. He took 6 wickets in 4 matches at the average of 14.17 and excellent economy of 6.07 in 14 overs.  The top run scorer of the series was Ishan Kishan, who made 206 runs at the average of 41. In last 4 white ball tours of India, South Africa won 2 series whereas 2 ended in draw.

Nissanka led Sri Lanka to their 2nd win of the ODI series

Image
In the third match of ODI series, Sri Lanka won by 6 wickets and now they are leading the series by 2-1. For Australia, the remaining games will be do or die whereas Sri Lanka needs only one win to clinch the series trophy. 1st innings: Australia won the toss and opted to bat first, they were playing without Pat Cummins and Steve Smith. Australia did not begin well as they lost the early wicket of Warner, who scored only 9. Then captain stayed on the crease but on the other end, Marsh went after scoring only 10 runs. Aaron Finch played beautiful knock of 62 even though, he took 85 deliveries. Alex Carey and Travis Head played brilliantly, Carey missed the fifty by just 1 run while Head made unbeaten 70 in 65 balls. Maxwell and Labuchagne, both played small but effective innings and helped Australia to set the impressive total of 291. Sri Lankan bowlers were not good at all and their fielding was also not too impressive. 2nd innings: Sri Lanka started well before losing the

Australian batters have to come up to win the game

Image
Australia won the first match in a close encounter before losing the second one because of their poor batting performance. Both games were interrupted by the rain and overs were reduced. Australia is continuously suffering from injuries, which is the only threat to them. In last match, Smith got injured and there is an doubt on his availability for the third ODI. Starc is likely to make a comeback in this match, he got injured in the opening T20I of the series and then missed 4 matches. Pat Cummins played brilliantly in the last match and he has big responsibility in this match as well.  Sri Lankan bowlers were really good in last game as they defended 216 runs in front of strong Aussie batting line up. There bowling will become more strong because their top spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga is likely to make a comeback. Like Australia, Sri Lankan batsmen also need to do better. This match will get played in Colombo, where the first 2 T20Is got played.

Series decider: who is going to win?

Image
Today, India will play the 5th T20 against South Africa, which will decide the series winner. India won 2 consecutive matches after losing first couple of games of the series. Bowling has done a lot better in past 3 games and Indian batting was also impressive. South Africa could have won the series but because of their dissapointing batting, they are going to play the series decider. Miller and Van Der Dussen led the team in the first one whereas they won the second match because of Klaseen. In past two matches, their top batters did not perform and it was one of the main reason for their loses. Their batting needs to be improved to win the 5th match of the series. From India, bowlers are doing their work very well but batters need to score more. India won past two matches because of the bowlers and Bhuvneshvar was really impressive so they will expect that performance again. There are huge chances that rain will interrupt in the match but hopefully, fans will get the resu

India won the match and level the series, strong comeback by Indian team in the T20I series

Image
India won the 4th T20 against South Africa and by winning this match, the series are level. The last T20 will be interesting because it will also decide the series winner. 1st innings: South Africa won the toss and opted to field first. India did not begun well as they lost couple of early wickets and the run rate was also not really good. Just after powerplay, India lost the third wicket of Kishan and they were looking in deep trouble. Then captain Pant stayed on crease with Pandya even though he made only 17 runs but he gave licence to Hardik to hit boundaries and score runs. Pandya scored 46 in 31 deliveries before got out by Ngidi. Karthik again played brilliantly and hit his maiden T20 fifty. He scored 55 in 27 balls and his strike rate was over 200. Ngidi was economical from South Africa and took 2 wickets. 2nd innings: The start for the Proteas was also bad as their captain got retired hurt and just after, De Cock got run out. None of the South African batter scored

England broke their own world record of highest score in ODIs against Netherlands

Image
In 2018, England made the highest ever total in ODI against Australia, which was 481, when Australia was struggling because their main players were banned. Now England broke that record by making 498 against Netherlands in first ODI of the series. In 2018, two English players hit centuries in that match but this time, three England players hit the tons. Jos Buttler made his carrer best 162 in this match in just 70 balls and he was the top scorer from England. Apart from him, Philip Salt and David Malan hit tons. After losing the early wicket of Roy, Salt and Malan made massive partnership of 222 runs. Philip made 122 whereas Malan scored 125. Livingstone smashed 66 at the strike rate of 300 and hit 6 fours and 6 sixes in his knock. England made 498 runs at the lose of 4 wickets in 50 overs. Van Beek was the only bowler from Netherlands, who had economy below 9. Netherlands did not make an impressive start and because of losing continuous wickets, they got all out on 266 and

Latest ICC test rankings: Root again on top

Image
In team rankings, Australia is still on top followed by India on second and New Zealand on third. New Zealand is playing a series with England from which, Kiwis has lost 2 matches and it will probably cause their decline. In case of player rankings, Joe Root again got the 1st position because of his unbelievable performance against New Zealand. He is in very good form and is continuously scoring runs. On the second position, there is an Australian batsman Marnus Labuchagne, who has 892 points (5 less than Root). He is followed by another Aussie star, former Australian captain Steve Smith with 845 points. At present, Australia is playing the ODI series against Sri Lanka but after it, they will play the 2-match test series against the same team and Australian players would have chance to climb to the first spot. In bowling rankings, Australian captain Pat Cummins is still on top with 51 point lead from the 2nd placed Ashwin, who has 850 points. Bumrah is on 3rd position with

Would it be 2-2 or a series win for South Africa?

Tonight, India will play the 4th T20 of 5-match T20 series against South Africa in Rajkot. Proteas are leading the series by 2-1 and would look to seal the series in this match. India won the last game and by winning this match, India will try to keep their hopes alive for the series win. Bhuvneshvar Kumar has incredible performances in the series and he is the leading wicket taker with brilliant economy. He can lead India to win this game by another outstanding performance. Apart from him, Ishan Kishan also has played incredibly and has scored plenty of runs. He is batting with very good intend, just to hit, which is really beneficial for Indian team.  From South Africa, Miller and Van Der Dussain performed brilliantly in 1st T20 whereas Klaseen led them in the second one, so they would again expect from their middle order but actually, their top order needs to fire up. Nortje has not done well in previous matches, which is a huge concern for South Africa. They would also

Sri Lanka won in a low scoring encounter, poor batting performance by the Aussies

In the 2nd ODI, Australia got beaten by Sri Lanka and after this win, series are on 1-1. It was another game, which got influenced by the rain and this time, the overs were reduced to 43. 1st innings: Australia came with two changes including the debutant Matthew Kuhnemann. On a spin friendly surface, Cummins bowled really well and took 4 wickets and in other bowlers, the bowling of Kuhnemann and Maxwell was impressive, they both took 2 wickets each. Overs got reduced to 43 due to rain and for Australia, the target was 216. 2nd innings: Australia did not make very good start as Finch went on only 14. After t

Would it be 2-0 for Australia or Sri Lanka will make a comeback?

Australia will play the second ODI of the 5-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. They won the first one by 2 wickets, which was of 44 overs because of rain interruption. Even though Australia won that match but Sri Lanka showed tough competition. Australia would expect more from their bowlers, Cummins and Hazlewood, who did not play very well in the last match have to pick early wickets. Maxwell was outstanding with the bat and Smith also made crucial runs.  Australia's strength will not be the same as in the last game because Stoinis and Agar would not play because of injuries. Before them, Marsh, Starc, Kane Richardson and Abbott also got injured. Sri Lanka made very good total in the previous match and their performance with ball was also impressive. Hasaranga, who played brilliantly in the last match, will not play in this match because of groin strain and it would be beneficial for the Aussies. Australia would look to win this game and take the lead of 2

Bairstow's unbelievable ton helped England to win the second test and series as well

Image
In the second test, England won the match by 5 wickets and won the series as they are leading the 3 match series by 2-0. It was an high scoring match but surprisingly, it did not end in draw. New Zealand made 553 in the first innings because of the masterclass of Mitchell and Blundell. England answered by scoring 539 in the first innings and Root performed again. He is in brilliant form and is making runs very quickly and consistently. He scored 176 runs and Olly Pope also played really well. In the second innings, New Zealand begun well as Conway and Young scored fifties. After them, New Zealand lost continuous wickets and got all out on 284. They set the target of 299 as they took the small lead of 14 runs in the first innings. England's start was not very good but the innings of Alex Lees played a crucial role in the chase. Later, Bairstow scored stunning 136 in 92 balls and Stokes also made runs with good strike rate. The English captain made unbeaten 75 in 70 deliv

Finally, India got their first win over South Africa in 2022

In the 3rd T20I, India won the game by 48 runs. It was a must win game for India and not only it but the upcoming two T20Is will also be the must win games for Indian team because South Africa won first two T20Is and is leading the series by 2-1. 1st innings: South Africa won the toss and opted to field first but it was not really good decision. India begun well as both of Indian openers, Kishan and Gaikwad, hit fifties at very good strike rate. India lost the first wicket in the form of Gaikwad in 10th over, when he got out after making 57 in 35 balls. Shreyas Iyer did not made any big contribution and India lost his wicket in 13th over just before losing the wicket of Ishan. Pandya made 31 in 21 deliveries and helped India to set the target of 180 runs. Dwayne Pretorius took 2 wickets and was the most economical South African bowler in that match. 2nd innings: South Africa lost early wicket of their captain, Bavuma, and started slowly. In the last over of powerplay, they

The overs were reduced to 44 because of the rain interruption in 2nd innings. 1st innings: Home team won the toss and opted to bat first and their decision was right because they got very good start. Both of their openers hit fifties and were playing with impressive strike rate. Australia got breakthrough because of the run out and just after that, they got another wicket. Agar took another wicket, which was an outstanding catch by Warner, and made the match interesting after which, Mendis played brilliantly. He made 86 and remained not out till the end. Agar and Labuchagne took 2 wickets each whereas other bowlers were not really impressive. 2nd innings: Aussies got bad start as they lost the wicket of their star o

Do or die for India, Pant have to play better

Image
India will play the third T20 of the 5-match T20 series tonight and lose in this match will also cause the series lose to India. South Africa won last two matches and they are leading the series by 2-0. The first match was dominated by the batters whereas in the second one, bowlers showed the dominance. In the last T20, Bhuvneshvar played really well and took 4 wickets but other bowlers did not perform good, which caused lose for India. Miller and Klaseen led their team in previous matches and played brilliantly. They can also produce difficulty for India in this match so India needs to prepare for them and take their wickets as early as possible. India is on top of ICC T20 rankings but this loss can cost them because England is just a point behind them. Hardik Pandya and Pant have to do better and stay on crease to make a good total or chase the total.

Beginning of ODI series between Australia and Sri Lanka, comeback of some big players in the ODI team

Image
After winning the T20 series, Australia would look to win the 5-match ODI series, which are going to begin today in Kandy. Sri Lanka won their last series against Zimbabwe whereas Aussies won their last series against Pakistan. In case of last series between both teams, Australia won that series in 2016 in Sri Lanka by 4-1. Australia is strong and balanced side but because of some injuries, it would not be very easy for them to clinch the series trophy. Apart from Starc, Mitchel Marsh, Sean Abbot and Kane Richardson are also injured but Australia is still favourite to win the game. Australia has revealed the playing 11 for the first ODI : David Warner, Aaron Finch(captain), Steve Smith, Marnus Labuchagne, Alex Carey, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Jhy Richardson, Josh Hazlewood. Mitchell Swepson is unlikely to play in first couple of matches because in Pallekele stadium, pacers would be more effective than spinners. Sri Lanka has showed

Another day of batters, England is only 80 runs behind the score of New Zealand

Image
In the second test match, England has showed very good batting performance after the masterclass of Kiwi batters. They have 5 wickets in hand and they are trailing by 80 runs. They did not begun well and lost the wicket of Crawley in just second over. After that, Alex Lees and Olly Pope made a brilliant partnership. Lees made 67 runs before the incredible innings of Pope and Root. Pope fell just five runs short from the 150 mark whereas Root is unbeaten on the crease with 163 runs in 200 deliveries. He is completely dominating and not only he, Stokes was also scoring runs at very good strike rate, he scored 46 in only 33 balls. Ben Foaks is on crease with Root on 30 runs and he can produce more difficulties for the Kiwis.  New Zealand can make a comeback but they need to take the crucial wicket of Joe Root. New Zealand bowlers were not only unable to take wickets but they also were expensive. Boult has taken 3 wickets and he can play a huge role in New Zealand's comebac

Another loss for India, South Africa close to series win

Image
In the second match of T20 series, South Africa won again. They now need only a win in remaining three games to clinch the series trophy. India is playing without some big names in this series and Pant is leading the team. 1st innings: South Africa won the toss and asked India to bat first. India started badly as they lost early wicket of Gaikwad in the beginning over. Then, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan played crucial innings. Iyer was the top scorer from Indian side with 40 runs in 35 balls. Other batters were unable to stay for long time on crease and India was in deep trouble. In last overs, Karthik played brilliant innings of 30 and helped India to reach at the competitive total of 147. Rabada and Parnell were economical and both took 1 wicket each. 2nd innings: Bhuvneshvar Kumar gave very good start to India by taking 3 wickets in powerplay overs. After which, South African captain led his team and got support from Klaseen. Klaseen was not looking very good in beginni

Sri Lanka won the close encounter

In the third match of the series, Sri Lanka won the thriller in last over. They already had lost the series on first two matches but in the third one, they were playing to avoid the whitewash, which they did. 1st innings: Australia won the toss again but this time, Finch chose to bat first. Australia got impressive start before losing the first wicket in the last over of the powerplay. Warner made 39 in 33 deliveries and was the highest scorer from Australian side. Inglis went on duck because of the run out and Maxwell also was unable to make a big contribution. Stoinis played very well and scored 38, who got support from Steve Smith. Steve Smith made unbeaten 37 and ended the things well with Wade. Theekshana took 2 wickets and also was economical in his 4 overs. 2nd innings: Sri Lanka begun with good run rate but lost their first wicket in 4th over. Then, Asalanka and Nissanka stayed on crease and played crucial innings. Marcus Stoinis took wickets of both batters and Sri

New Zealand in strong position, Pakistan won the ODI series

New Zealand vs England: In the second test match, New Zealand is in comfort zone because of the good performances of their batters. England won the toss and opted to field but New Zealand made it wrong decision. They are 318 for 4 after stumps on first day.  They started well and lost first wicket on 84. Williamson is not playing in this match and Latham is leading the Kiwi side, who made 26 before got out by Anderson. Then, Conway played impressive innings of 46 runs and made a good partnership with Henry Nicholls. Mitchell and Blundell played very well again and are unbeaten. Mitchell is playing on 81 and Blundell is on 67. Ben Stokes and James Anderson, both took 2 wickets each but other bowlers were  not really impressive. England would try to make a strong come back while New Zealand would look to make a huge total in 1st innings. Pakistan vs West Indies: Pakistan won the second ODI by 120 runs and also won the series by winning first two matches. Their captain led fro

A chance of whitewash for Australia, can Sri Lanka avoid it?

Image
Australia will play the last match of T20 series against Sri Lanka and would try to make the scoreline 3-0 by winning this match. Australia won first two matches, they showed complete dominance in the first one whereas in the second match, Sri Lanka showed some fight. Like 2nd T20, Starc will not be available in this match because of his finger injury and is unlikely to play in ODI series.  Australian bowlers dominated in previous matches, which was one of the major reason for their wins. Hazlewood is becoming more and more good as Sri Lankan batsmen faced too many difficulties in front of him. In this match, Australia can make some changes and can give chances to new faces. Sri Lanka will try to avoid the whitewash and register their  first win in this series. They have to improve their batting because in both of the previous matches, they lost the momentum after 10 overs.

Starc is likely to miss the ODI series against Sri Lanka

Image
Mitchell Starc will probably miss the remaining limited over games in Sri Lanka tour. He got injured in opening T20 of the series and he have not recovered from that injury. He missed the 2nd T20 and will miss the 3rd one as well as ODIs. In his replacement, Jhy Richardson and Kane Richardson are added to the ODI squad, which will begin from 14 June. Australia have won the T20 series in first two matches and they would look for a whitewash in the next game.
