Mitchell and Blundell again rescued New Zealand, another top order failure for the Kiwis
In the 3rd test match, Kiwis are on 225-5 after day 1. They chose to bat first but they lost the wicket of Latham in the very first over. Will Young only scored 20 runs before getting out by Leach before the small innings of captain Williamson and Conway. New Zealand lost 4 wickets on just 84 runs but then, Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell played beautiful knocks. They both are unbeaten and have made partnership of over 100. Mitchell is on 78 whereas Blundell is doing well on 45.
For England, Stuart Broad and Jack Leach have taken 2 wickets each. Jamie Overton made his debut in this match after a long wait, he got the test cap from his brother, Craig Overton, which was an emotional moment for him and his family. He took Conway's wicket and opened his wicket column in international cricket.
On day 2, New Zealand would look to make a massive total while the British team will try to take wickets quickly and restrict New Zealand under 300.
