Kiwis are in good position after conceding lead of only 9 runs in 1st test against England
New Zealand team is playing test series against England in England. They are playing 1st test at Lords cricket stadium, the home of cricket, in which, they are in strong position.
In the first test of the three test match series, Williamson won the toss and opted to bat first. England made very good start as New Zealand lost 5 wickets under 30 runs. Anderson again performed really well and took early wickets. After that, Colin De Grandhome played impressive innings of 42 and got supported by Southee, who made 26 runs in just 23 deliveries. New Zealand got all out on just 132. Anderson and Matty Potts took 4 wickets each, it was a dream debut for Matty.
New Zealand also bowled really good and England struggled again with the bat. They got good start but then, they lost continuous wickets and were unable to take a huge lead.
In the 2nd innings of Kiwis, they begun badly and lost wickets quickly before brilliant partnership between Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell. They both are not out and are in 90s. Potts took 2 wickets in 2nd innings but England is on back foot. They will try to make a strong come back on day 3.
