England won the 1st test against New Zealand by 5 wickets

New Zealand got beaten by England in the first test of the three match series. This match was low scoring and before 4th innings, New Zealand were looking in strong position but England chased the target.
Joe Root hit the ton and led his team to the victory. Debutant, Matty Potts, also performed well and took 7 wickets. Apart from Jamieson and Boult, no other New Zealand bowler took wickets in 4th innings, which caused their defeat. Joe Root was the man of the match because of his impressive innings. 
New Zealand won last series in England by 2-1, when Devon Conway hit the double century on his debut. They can come back in second test, which will begin on 10th of June.
Even though England won the match but they have some issues with their batting, which need to be settle down before the remaining matches.
Despite winning this match, England is still struggling in WTC table and they are on 8th position. In case of current Test Champions, they are also struggling on 7th position. Australia is still on top followed by South Africa on second and India on 3rd.
